For wet-pour playground and kindergarten safety surfacing, we recommend 1-3mm or 1-4mm granules. At 40mm installation depth this provides Critical Fall Height (CFH) protection up to 1.5m per EN 1177. For synthetic grass infill, finer 0.5-2mm granules are typically specified.

Our EPDM granules are optimized for use with aliphatic (non-yellowing) polyurethane (PU) binders at a typical ratio of 18-22% by weight. We also supply compatible EPDM granule PU glue — ask for a bundled quote.
How long does EPDM rubber surfacing last?
Under normal outdoor conditions with proper installation, EPDM surfaces last 8-12 years. Virgin EPDM significantly outperforms recycled rubber in long-term UV and ozone resistance.
